Ethel Maud Georgina Boor was the daughter of Ellen Boor, Harry Preston’s first wife. Her father was George Chitty Boor who died not long after her birth in 1885, the same year as Ellen and Harry’s marriage.
Ethel’s surname was subsequently changed to Preston and she was brought up as Harry’s own child.
