Edith Ellen Collings was Harry Preston’s second wife. They met at one of his hotels, the Royal Albion in Brighton, where she was working as manageress with her sister Beatrice (a housekeeper). They were married in March 1914 and their only child, Nancy, was born 6 months later.
Edith became ‘Lady Preston’ on Harry’s knighthood in 1933. She was widowed by Harry in August 1936.
