Hi, I’m Robin, the great-grandson of Sir Harry Preston. My father, Ron Woodlands , broke the news to me about his secret grandfather (and my secret great-grandfather!) when I was 18, on my first day at University. Back then, the story was very much hearsay from his mother and aunts. Since then however, following my father’s retirement in 1992, he researched Harry’s story extensively, the results of which can be found in The World Of Harry Preston.

I’d been meaning to put a website together, dedicated to Sir Harry, for some time (I bought the domain names over 10 years ago!). The great coronavirus lockdown of 2020 finally gave me the excuse to do it.

I hope you enjoy the site. Harry led an eventful and colourful life… you could say his life was a movie in the making.
